Privacy Policy for Whip Mouse
Effective date: 31-08-2026
Whip Mouse is a desktop toy. It does not collect, store, transmit, or share
any personal information.
Information we collect
None.
Whip Mouse has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no
tracking, and no third-party SDKs. The app is sandboxed and ships without
network permission, which means it is technically incapable of sending
anything anywhere.
Information stored on your device
Whip Mouse saves your preferences locally using the standard macOS settings
system. This never leaves your Mac. It consists only of:
- The whip style you selected
- Size, gravity, crack power, and crack sensitivity values
- Sound on/off and volume level
- Whether the whip appears at launch
- Whether click-to-crack is enabled
Deleting the app removes these settings.
Pointer position
To draw a whip that follows your cursor, Whip Mouse reads the pointer’s
current screen coordinates while it is running. This is used only to
position the animation on screen. It is held in memory for the duration of
the animation frame and is never recorded, saved, or transmitted.
Click detection (optional, off by default)
The “Crack the whip when I click” setting, when you turn it on, asks macOS
to notify the app when a mouse button is pressed. Whip Mouse uses only the
fact that a click occurred, as a signal to start the whip animation. It does
not read where you clicked, what you clicked on, which application you were
using, or anything you typed. Keyboard input is never monitored, and the app
does not request Accessibility permission.
This setting is off unless you enable it, and you can turn it off at any
time in the app’s settings window.
Children
Whip Mouse collects no data from anyone, including children.
App Store analytics
If you obtained Whip Mouse from the Mac App Store, Apple may provide us with
aggregate, anonymous statistics such as download and crash counts. This
comes from Apple, not from the app, and does not identify individual users.
Apple’s handling of that information is governed by Apple’s own privacy
policy.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address
with a new effective date.
